GNOME becomes unresponsive after updating packages with pacman

Pamac --version

Pamac 10.4.0-2 - libpamac 11.3.0-1

Variant in use

Pamac Updates Indicator - pamac-updates@manjaro.org gnome-shell extension

Distribution

Manjaro Linux; Build ID: rolling

Desktop environment

GNOME 42.1

What's not working

When the extension is disabled/enabled more times (or when having a long uptime, because gnome-shell disables/enables the extension by itself according to my logs), the system becomes unresponsive after package updates.

How to reproduce?

  • Step 1: Disable/enable the Pamac Updates Indicator from the Extensions application a couple of times.
  • Step 2: Run sudo pacman -Syu
  • Step 3: The system becomes unresponsive for a while (the more times you disable/enable, the longer it lasts).
