~~Package's dependencies are not taken into account~~ Confusing error message when gpg keys cannot be verified
I'm not sure if this is a bug or an expected behavior, but I've noticed that (sometimes?) pamac
does not download the dependencies
specified in the PKGFILE
. I've just tried to install mingw-w64-gcc
by using $ pamac install mingw-w64-gcc
and it failed with the following error:
Building mingw-w64-gcc...
==> Making package: mingw-w64-gcc 9.3.0-1 (Di 17 Mär 2020 16:48:35 CET)
==> Checking runtime dependencies...
==> Missing dependencies:
-> mingw-w64-crt
-> mingw-w64-binutils
-> mingw-w64-winpthreads
-> mingw-w64-headers
==> Checking buildtime dependencies...
==> ERROR: Could not resolve all dependencies.
The listed dependencies are listed in the PKGFILE
and I expected that either they're satisfied by default or that there's an option to pamac install
which allows me to ask pamac
to satisfy the dependencies.
Since I wanted to check whether it's something odd with my configuration or rather a bug with pamac-cli
, I tried to use pacaur
to install mingw-w64-gcc
and it worked out well without any issues.
UPD. Turned out, this issue also exists with pacaur
, which also fails after some time with an error:
==> Sources are ready.
:: failed to verify integrity or prepare mingw-w64-binutils package
:: failed to verify integrity or prepare mingw-w64-headers package
:: failed to verify integrity or prepare mingw-w64-crt package
:: failed to verify integrity or prepare mingw-w64-winpthreads package
:: failed to verify integrity or prepare mingw-w64-gcc package
In other words, it's not a bug as such, but probably just a bit confusing error message.
