Pamac on VirtualBox freezes when checking for updates

With version 7.3.1-2, when i select the "Updates" tab, the process gets stuck at 0% (sometimes reaches 22% or 90%, in rare occasions it even finishes), Pamac freezes and the only way to exit is to kill the Pamac process. I have stable internet connection and the mirrors i use are reachable.

I'm using Manjaro XFCE inside VirtualBox, up-to-date. The problem is not present on real hardware. I tried the following things:

  1. pacman-mirrors -g
  2. pacman -Syy
  3. Cleaning all caches
