Occational inconsistency between Pamac and pacman
This is entirely based on previous experience and the behavior may have changed since I last encountered the issue.
The thing is - I often just accept the quirks - and learn to account for them
/tmp/checkup-db-$USER contains two folders
- local -> /var/lib/pacman/local
- sync
- copies of pacman databases
Those copies in sync folder is not always identical to /var/lib/pacman/sync
which when they are different - results in pamac not seeing the same versions as pacman.
I will monitor my system and create an issue if I can verify it.

Launching Pamac and checking installed kernel package versions the match pacman even though folder checkup-db-$USER has not changed.
The database copies in /tmp/checkup-db-$USER/ changes after selecting Refresh databases option in Pamac. I am not sure what they are doing - but those databases are the reason I previously have noted inconsistencies between Pamac and pacman.
