Hi,
please remove mirror.moson.org
from the list.
Thanks,
MO
I currently sync mirror.moson.org
from manjaro.moson.eu
, but that mirror will be taken offline soonish.
Could you whitelist the following addresses for direct sync:

edit https://gitlab.manjaro.org/webpage/manjaro-web-repo/-/issues/59 should be done before the removal.

Hi,
I'd like to propose going back to an /rpc based approach for retrieving metadata from the AUR:
Instead of directly querying the API on aurweb, you can self-host your own instance of the /rpc service.
This would solve several of the current issues:
8.8 MB download of metadata archive is still a huge bandwidth waste.
While the Manjaro users are routed via the manjaro CDN, pamac users on other distros are still fetching it from aurweb, crippling the bandwidth of the aur.
When pamac loads the metadata file into memory, it's using huge amounts of RAM (+ 500MB).

Afaik, pamac now uses the metadata file instead of the rest API to fetch package information.
It seems that the file has not being re-generated for a while. That could be the issue.
https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/aurweb/-/issues/337
Until that is implemented it would probably be fair if Manjaro is hosting the file themselves imho.
Just fetch it every 5 minutes from the AUR and serve it from (xxx.)manjaro.org and have pamac downloading it from there instead...
While that would make the data slightly less up-to-date it's probably still acceptable (in the worst case the user would be 10 minutes behind instead of 5).
Hi @yochananmarqos1 ,
could you update to 1.1.2:
https://github.com/moson-mo/matray/releases/tag/v1.1.2
thanks in advance,
mo
most people with AUR enabled for a single package and then use Pamac, will triger multiple searches in AUR even if they don't want to
That's the the thing.
-> Auto-suggest should be disabled (at least for AUR)
-> Only search AUR when explicitly selected (Maybe some separate search button or tab or whatnot; don't know how the UI looks like nowadays)
Seems Guillaume is on holidays or so :)
This patch should fix it:
diff --git a/src/cli.vala b/src/cli.vala
index 7ea5ec1..b36121e 100644
--- a/src/cli.vala
+++ b/src/cli.vala
@@ -2435,7 +2435,7 @@ namespace Pamac {
}
}
if (numbers.length > 0) {
- foreach (uint number in numbers) {
+ foreach (unowned uint number in numbers) {
to_install.add (pkgs[number - 1].name);
}
break;
I've only compiled it though. Didn't test it.

Hi,
Could someone update to v.1.0.3
https://github.com/moson-mo/matray/releases/tag/v1.0.3

Hi,
according to the instructions it should be possible on stable branch to override the A.L.A. behavior by setting an environment variable:
Downgrading from A.L.A. is disabled on the stable branch. To override this behavior, set DOWNGRADE_FROM_ALA to 1
Now DOWNGRADE_FROM_ALA is a script variable, not an environment variable. The script currently does not care if you set an env var DOWNGRADE_FROM_ALA=1...
In order to work as expected, the following line in the patch should be modified:
https://gitlab.manjaro.org/packages/community/downgrade/-/blob/master/close-ala-in-stable.patch#L10
From
+if [ ! "$(pacman-mirrors -aG)" == stable ] ; then
To
+if [ ! "$(pacman-mirrors -aG)" == stable ] || [ "$DOWNGRADE_FROM_ALA" = "1" ] ; then

MO
Hi,
could you change manjaro.moson.org to mirror.moson.org/manjaro/ in the mirror-list.
thanks,

Hi,
not sure if this is the correct repo that is used for building the current app. Anyways:
Openshot has the wrong package name "obs-studio" defined it seems:
https://gitlab.manjaro.org/Chrysostomus/application-utility/-/blob/master/share/default.json#L587
{
"name": "Openshot",
"icon": "openshot",
"description": "Award-winning free and open-source video editor",
"pkg": "obs-studio",
"extra": []
},
