Mount fails at boot due to corrupted mkinitcpio v35.2 on some device and legacy BIOS?
It is not about me, but some people have the same problem with mkinitcpio v35.2 that breaks something in some device or legacy BIOS.

They downgraded back to old mkinitcpio v34 to fix the issue. I think that's no coincidence.
