Seems there is a discussion in our [forum](https://forum.manjaro.org/t/installer-needs-to-add-vmd-module-to-mkinitcpio/70654/) and on the [Arch Bugtracker](https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/68704) to include **vmd** by default. Suse, Fedora and others already do that. Best way would be to [patch](https://github.com/archlinux/mkinitcpio/pull/60) mkinitcpio rather than adding the module to [calamares](https://gitlab.manjaro.org/applications/calamares/-/blob/development/src/modules/initcpiocfg/main.py#L119).
