created log archives not extractable

Somehow to extract log-files compressed by manjaro-tools quit with errors.

[phil@manjaro linux41]$ tar xJf *4.1.16*log*.xz
xz: (stdin): File format not recognized
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
