Please make Pamac correctly handle IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf
Hello all,
Packages that are listed as IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf still appear in Pamac’s search results.
Problem is that:
If you inadvertently click on such a package, trying to install it, you get a message that the package could not be found in the repository. This is misleading. There should be a message as clear as with pacman:
:: {packagename} is in IgnorePkg/IgnoreGroup. Install anyway? [Y/n]
Instead, Pamac's message saying that the package could not be found in the repository, leads in the wrong direction. I was checking back and forth with pacman-mirrors
that the mirrors are up to date and working.
Finally, launching pacman
from the command line provided the correct explanation.
Suggestion: Please make Pamac parse the /etc/pacman.conf
for IgnorePkg
entries too, and hide these from the search results - or (better) indicate that they are in Ignore state.
Thank you very much and kind regards, DAC324
