Pamac windows unresponsive while searching when bandwidth saturated

What's not working

If you saturate your bandwidth Pamac becomes unresponsive during a search, the window is invisible until the search results eventually come, switching to other windows and going back to Pamac doesn't show Pamac but just 'the frame' of it.

It is not a really big issue but I wondered what was going on for a moment before I understood it was because my bandwidth was saturated. It looks like a crash/freeze of the application.

How to reproduce?

  • Saturate your bandwidth by downloading (and uploading) something
  • Search in Pamac
  • Notice the windows is now unresponsive clicking other windows and going back to Pamac doesn't show anything, the window is invisible until the search results eventually come
To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
