What's not working
pamac tries to update non-AUR package to AUR version
How to reproduce?
strange... seems to be related to refreshing the aur database.
After booting up this morning I noticed the red flag on the pamac icon so I opened
up the package manager window and the update showed that ZFS-DKMS needed upgrading from 2.1.2-1
to 2.1.2-2 (AUR version).
Extremely concerned as I normally have ZFS-DKMS installed from the
archzfs repository, I immediately did first a pacman -Syu
which noticed no updates at all.
Then I tried pikaur -Syu
, which updates the AUR database, to find no updates to installed AUR packages.
So I came back to pamac and refreshed the database, here I get the message
'Impossible de cloner les fichiers de construction de zfs-dkms'
(sorry, my GUI is in French, basically saying: impossible to clone the source files for zfs-dkms)
strange, so I tried with the CLI using pamac update
where after synchronising the databases there was nothing to update.
Came back to the GUI and refreshed again, this time normal, up to date.
Looks perhaps like there is a synchronisation issue as well as perhaps a package origin mapping issue.
BTW, I've encountered something similar once or twice before, simply resolving by using pacman and pikaur. I'm using pamac here on arch since upgrading a few client machines to manjaro (leaving the servers on arch) my personal workstation is still arch for the moment as I use it to test prior to deploying on the server. I hope(d) to be able to retire pikaur in favour of pamac.
