Feature request: Managing wanted packages
I know it's dangerous to play with wanted (--asdeps
--asexplicit
) packages, because if you don't know what you do, you could end up uninstalling critical package at next run and break your installation. I know too that we should manage well from the beginning our chain of dependencies and let packages grep its dependencies. But fact is that, like many people, we end up just installing everything as wanted, so a lot of dependencies stays after uninstalling a major thing
From that statement, I have thinked of an UI who show all packages, the ticked one are the wanted ones, and the unticked are the dependencies. We can un/tick to update all packages and make some cleaning without deleting everything, even packages that are still wanted as dependencies
Pamac is the ideal candidate for that, it's already an ideal UI package manager, adding a menu for performing that should be just some supplementary lines
