Firefox - remove "browser.uidensity" locked preference
Firefox on Manjaro uses AutoConfig to load /usr/lib/firefox/manjaro.cfg
to set some distro defaults. All of the preference in this file are set using the pref()
, which means they cannot be overridden by the user.
This file contains, among others, a setting to set the browser UI density to "compact" (browser.uidensity
set to 1); while this may be desirable on desktops and laptops, setting the UI density to "touch" (browser.uidensity
set to 2) is, in my experience, better on phones.
Could you please change the config file to allow the user to override the UI density setting (changing pref("browser.uidensity", 1)
to defaultPref("browser.uidensity", 1)
)? Also, please consider reviewing the file as a whole and changing the functions to defaultPref()
on any settings which you want as user-overrideable distro defaults, not locked preferences; IMHO some of the settings in there are definitely up for debate and users should be allowed to change them.
