Beta22: on-screen keyboard still being automatically deployed even when PinePhone Keyboard is connected
I am not sure if this is even a bug, or a very practical feature request?
I have the PinePhone Keyboard (just received it two weeks ago, it's a great upgrade!!), the keyboard works well out-of-the-box under Manjaro Phosh , but one thing I have noticed and is very annoying, is the the OS still handles the keyboard as if the physical keyboard is not there - so every time I tap or move into an input type component of an application, the virtual keyboard (Squeekboard) automatically being opened.
A test scenario: Open the terminal app and tap on the screen to get the focus on the terminal prompt, the on-screen keyboard automatically deployes, as it should - but what if the device has a PinePhone keyboard installed?
What I think needs to be done:
- If a PinePhone keyboard is connected, avoid auto-opening the on-screen keyboard when dealing with input type components.
- The on-screen keyboard will still be supported, but only be invoked if a PinePhone Keyboard enabed device is manually tapping the keyboard icon to open it, otherwise, the connected PinePhone keyboard becomes the primary input source for typing.
is there a way for the OS to detect the presence of the Pogo-Pins connected PinePhone Keyboard and act accordingly?
