Ever Since Kernel 5.17.6-1 Mouse Response Have Been Unstable.
I not sure if any of the developers actually use Raspberry Pi's, however I do and I've been using your kernels and building them on my systems and I did so because they were incredibly stable. I use the Pi 4b 8G versions and I build your kernels for my Manjaro and Arch Linux ARM64 boxes. Ever since the 5.17.6 kernel, X has been a pain to use. The mouse works accurately in the terminal console, gpm works fine, it's just in X where everything goes mad. The mouse response is abysmal. The casual user would probably not notice but it's very apparent.
I've changed mice, there's no difference, I can't use any of the 5.18. series kernels because the same problem exist. I've rebuilt the 5.18 kernels with the diff files that were deleted after kernel 5.17.6:
revert-revert_drm_atomic_helpers_remove_legacy_cursor_update_hacks.diff revert-revert_drm_vc4_hvs_defer_dlist_slots_deallocation.diff
That didn't solve anything either. I'm at my wits end trying to solve this mystery, what I do know is, whenever I build any kernel prior to 5.17.8, which has the same issue, the kernels run perfect. So what concerns me is, am I to forever run kernels 5.17.6-1? Don't get me wrong, the kernels prior to 5.17.6 they'll work great on servers they only act erratically running Xorg. I'm not done yet I still have more searching to do. I'll gladly accept any insights you may have concerning this issue and thanks for reading this.
